Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Iceland
The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is one of the most beautiful places in Iceland and Earth and probably the whole cosmos. It's also the windiest and impossible to pronounce, so make sure you're prepared for that. Here in this otherworldly place, I rode a My Little Pony, took sun on a black sand beach, hiked around neon orange lighthouses and camped in the middle of a lava field all in the same day.
You must go.
Look at the pictures first, but then go.
Snaps from Hótel Egilsen, Stykkishólmur, Narfeyrarstofa Restaurant, the Hellissandur campground, Snaefellsjoekull (a mighty glacier!), Svörtuloft Lighthouse, Djúpalónssandur (black sand beach), the Baðstofa rock formation in Hellnar (near the Fjöruhúsið Cafe), Stóri Kambur Horse Ranch and the black Buðir Church.
